Students are taught a lot of frameworks in business school and then are asked to make decisions about the future of a business based on what the framework tells us. Are these frameworks still relevant? How would you make them more relevant? Pick one and take it apart. Considering the sustainable development goals and the current COVID-19 world as it is now, as it should be or as you want it to be, could you “fix” the model, transform it, rewrite it or, maybe even throw it away? If you look at all the models you are learning/teaching, do they really cover the breadth of issues the business sector should be considering when making decisions and the kind of decisions are they perhaps encouraging one to make? Take this opportunity to rethink the rules of business.
