This new course would focus on how COVID-19 is impacting either specific businesses and/or the industry they are part of. Students, either in small groups or as a whole class, will select a local business and follow it throughout this pandemic looking at how the business was operating before, what changes it has been making, both mandated by government restrictions as well as on its own accord, and where it stands today. Students will look at other similar businesses to see if they have taking different approaches or not, whether these have been successful and whether they could be applied to the business they are focused on. They will also explore their own ideas of what this business could do, and follow the business through the upcoming months as the situation continues to evolve. The focus would be interdiscplinary. The class could also do this in collaboration with the local business who could potentially take their advice on board moving forwards.
