HEC Montreal in province of Quebec, Canada has created an experiential business history course that involves a 12-day, 500-kilometer cycling trip. The course seeks to expose students first-hand to how politics, culture, and geogrphacy (as epxerienced by bicycle) influece the economic development of Quebec. Over the 12 days students visit factories, musieum and hydroelectric dams. They do readings and write papers about their experiences as well as collaborating on a document on an industry visited during the course. They also collaborate with several busineses along the way.
